Your Instructor
I'm an AIDA Instructor Trainer and have been teaching since January 2022. I've taught over 1,000 students and love sharing my passion for freediving with others.
As an instructor, my main goal is to make sure my students not only learn the skills needed to dive safely, but also develop a real appreciation for the underwater world. I believe freediving is not just a sport, but a way of life that teaches us to be present, mindful, and respectful of the ocean and everything in it.
From 2022 through 2025, I worked as a photographer at the CMAS World Championships — the world championships of competitive freediving, run by the international governing body for underwater sports. Being on the safety and camera side of the deepest dives in the sport shaped how I teach: I have watched the very best in the world, up close, and almost none of what makes them good is about pushing hard. It is about relaxation, patience, and precise technique. That is exactly what I teach beginners.

I took the AIDA 1, 2 and 3 courses with Mitch in the span of two weekends. I have been freediving my whole life and his courses were impeccable. His calmness and ability to teach is incredible, he is patient and willing to work with you as much as you need to reach your goals. I learned so much from his courses and was able to very comfortably push myself knowing that he was always watching me carefully with my safety at his forefront. I spent about three months researching courses with different instructors and schools and if I had to do it again a million times I would choose Mitch every time. If you go into his course with the willingness to learn you will achieve incredible things with Mitch. I plan to take my AIDA 4 and instructor course with him as well and I am very very excited to do so this summer!!
